Egg donation has been legal in Austria since 2015. Demand is enormous, as the "open donation" program offered in Austria is also preferred by foreign couples. In this case, the child has the opportunity to receive the donor's data at their 14th birthday, if the child wishes. More and more young women are donating their precious eggs to help childless couples. The motives of the donors are varied: Some consciously do not want children of their own, while others have experienced the suffering caused by an unfulfilled desire to have children within their own family or circle of friends.
