Our Standards

At the Kinderwunsch Institut Dr Loimer in Linz we pride ourselves on providing the most modern reproductive medicine paired with a trusting environment. Scientifically, we are guided by the highest standards and latest technologies. This applies to the training of our employees as well as to all medical equipment, monitoring systems and technology in the IVF laboratory.

We use a step-by-step procedure in diagnosis and treatment plans, through which we can utilise the most promising treatment options for our couples without wasting time. Every cog in the wheel of the Kinderwunsch Institut Dr Loimer is perfectly coordinated. It starts with the training of our employees, the feel-good atmosphere in the Institute, the perfect organisational processes and extends to the professional treatment and perfectly organised IVF laboratory. We accompany our couples on every medical step of the way to their goal.

At the Kinderwunsch Institut Dr Loimer – in addition to observing legal requirements and ensuring ethical and medical principles are met – the wellbeing and health of the couples we treat are always the main focus of our activities. Every treatment starts with a personal consultation. This includes an exact clarification of the cause of infertility, as well as information on the current legal situation, the chances of success, the costs as well as information on the procedure and possible risks of treatment.

SAFETY MEASURES IN THE IVF LAB

Our IVF laboratory manager, Dr Reinhard Schwarz is a highly qualified biologist with a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (PhD). Dr Schwarz is recognised as a certified clinical embryologist by the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). We apply the strictest safety regulations in our institute. The IVF laboratory is secured by an electronic access system and an emergency power generator guarantees undisturbed operation and supply of electricity to critical devices for at least 12 hours in the event of a power failure. Safety and operational processes play an essential role in the operation of an IVF clinic. Our centre meets all safety and operational requirements. The function and safe operation of our systems are guaranteed and monitored by us around the clock, 365 days a year. Our safety and operating concept make a significant contribution to the safe operation of artificial insemination and serves as a basis for assessing the quality of our work.

Numerous alarm systems and control mechanisms permanently monitor all important parameters such as temperature, humidity, gas pressure, room air pressure and the care of the embryos entrusted to us. All parameters are permanently recorded by us and can be queried at any time. In the event of anomalies, we guarantee that any malfunctions will be rectified immediately, day and night.

Embryos require a stable environment, and fluctuations in temperature and pH in the culture medium can disrupt development. To ensure that the environment remains constant, we have set up a particularly sophisticated air conditioning system. Not only do we provide the laboratory with the purest air using multiple filtration systems and optimal room air pressure, the constant measurement of all parameters in the culture dishes ensures that embryos can develop in a stable environment.

SAFETY FOR IVF CHILDREN

The most extensive study to date evaluating the safety of artificial reproductive techniques concluded that children conceived by in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) are as healthy and well-developed as children conceived naturally.
