DR. MED. FLORIAN WIMMER

Specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine

I was born in Kitzbühel in September 1974 and grew up in St. Johann im Pongau. After studying medicine in Innsbruck – after a year abroad in Scotland – I completed my training as a general practitioner at the Klinkum Wels-Grieskirchen in autumn 2005. Immediately afterwards I took a position with Siemens, working in the hospital IT department. After a total of four years with projects at home and (more and more) abroad, it became clear to me that I wanted to continue my career as a doctor for anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. From 2010 I worked in the Klinikum Wels-Grieskirchen in the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine under Prim. Univ.-Prof. Dr Huemer and finished my specialist training in 2015. As a specialist, I worked mainly in the obstetric and gynaecological field. I have been employed as a senior physician at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz since 2019. Since I live with my family here in Linz, I now enjoy all the time I have with my two sons all the more. I see my job with Dr Loimer as creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
